We want to play an active role in developing innovative models for the local energy transition, raising awareness amongst citizens and encouraging them to receive the economic and environmental benefits of participating in renewable energy communities.
Magliano Alpi is a town of 2,184 inhabitants in the province of Cuneo, (Piemonte, Italy). In December 2020 Magliano Alpi founded Italy’s first renewable energy community (REC), compliant with the RED-II Directive as adopted by the Italian Government. The REC is member of RESCOOP, and is managed using a cooperative model, thus creating local service supply chains for the energy transition.
