Here at the Renewable Energy Community we’ve been very busy working with our nine Flagship Cases to support the energy transition in the Mediterranean. Get to know our rural, island and urban Flagship Cases through our video series that presents the ETU Initiative’s work across the region.
Take a look at your calendars because next week is the EU Sustainable Energy Week, and we’ve got plenty planned, with an interactive side event on renewable energy communities, an Energy Talk, as well as a stand at the Energy Fair, where you can come and meet us one on one. Lastly, keep an eye out – we will be working with our Flagship Cases until the end of the year, and will share the final results with you soon. We will also be launching a new campaign – so stay tuned!

The Interreg MED Renewable Energy Community will be part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week
On Wednesday 27th October we will hold an event to delve into how renewable energy communities (RECs) can catalyse the energy transition in the Mediterranean. The two-part event will begin with three representatives from RECs within the Interreg MED Renewable Energy’s ETU Initiative sharing their experiences of establishing their RECs, followed by a panel discussion on European legislative frameworks in relation to RECs. Stavroula Pappa – Policy Expert at REScoop.eu – and Achille Hannoset – Policy Officer at DG ENER (EU Commission) – will discuss the importance of including RECs in energy policy across the EU to facilitate their establishment and support the green energy transition.
We will also participate in the EUSEW’s Networking Village: hosting an Energy Talk, and running an Energy Fair stand throughout the week. These will take place on the EUSEW platform, so make sure you’re registered to add them to your schedule. Register here!
